A Rough Week

Sarah has been having trouble with her medications for more than a week, experiencing bouts of nausea and pain almost every day, sometimes for long stretches.  By last weekend she was so weak due to not being able to keep food down that we took her to the ER, and she was then admitted to the hospital where she remains.  Doctors are working to find the right type and combination of medications to improve Sarah's condition to the point that she can return home.

We have been so fortunate to receive an outpouring of assistance from neighbors, relatives, and friends from all over.  Prayers, messages, food, information, consultation, financial contributions.  It has been quite a sight to behold, and we offer our deep thanks to you for the part you have played in bolstering us.  My words can't express how significant this support has been for us.

The kids, who aren't used to being away from Sarah, are doing mostly okay.  Sarah's parents work overtime every day to care for them, and help us with chores.  Each day Sarah (when she feels up to it) and I try again to wade through the ocean of information and series of decisions that confront us.  Her windows of opportunity are limited due to her condition and to frequent visits from hospital staff.

We wish we could be in better touch with our relatives and friends, near and far, that have done so much to help us.  Please know that you are in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers, even though we often cannot find the time to be in contact during these days.
